Parking permits and visitor vouchers

Buy vouchers so that visitors can park on the street during restricted parking hours in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) or Permit Parking Area (PPA). 

Vouchers can be used anywhere that a resident's parking permit is valid. You do not need to have a resident parking permit to buy visitor vouchers.

Visitor vouchers are not available for every CPZ and PPA. 

Activate a visitor session

To use your purchased vouchers, you must activate each visitor session through your RBK permit account.

If you set up your account before 1 October 2024 you will need to reset your password through the forgot password link the first time you log in after 1 October 2024. Please check junk/spam folders when you do this. 

You’ll need to enter the vehicle registration number (VRN), the start date and the time.

For your convenience you can activate a voucher up to 60 days in advance of when you want to use it..

When logged in, you can:

• see the duration of the sessions in the visitor permit type under ‘permit duration’
• see the number of sessions where it states the number of permits
• edit the vehicle on an active session at any point by clicking ‘edit vehicle’ 

How much it costs

Visitor vouchers cost:

• 65p for 1 hour
• £1.75 for 6 hours
• £3.50 for 24 hours

The minimum single purchase is 10 sessions. 

Each household can buy up to 200 sessions a year. Visitor vouchers do not expire. Refunds can be given to unused voucher sessions, if you have 10 or more sessions to refund.

Login to your RBK parking permit portal account and select the relevant visitor permit type.

If you already have an active resident’s permit for the same address, your visitor permit application will be approved automatically. New applications will be required to provide evidence and will be subject to approval.

Paper vouchers (scratchcards)

If you do not have access to the internet, you can use paper vouchers for your visitors to visit you in a CPZ.

The scratch cards are sold as a book of 10. You can buy up to 10 books in one order.

A maximum of 20 books (200 scratch cards) can be used per address, per year. 

To buy a scratch card book, call 0345 319 9636 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). You will need to provide 2 proofs of address.

Refunds for unused vouchers

If you’re moving away from your permit zone, you can request a refund for your unused visitor vouchers.

You must have a minimum of 10 unused visitor sessions remaining on your account to request a refund.

Email rbk.permits@apcoa.com one of your permit unique reference numbers and the reason for your request. 

Our permit team will process your request and keep you updated.

We’ll return the funds to the card that was used to make the original payment. If this is not possible, we’ll send your refund by cheque.
