Single Person Discount Review
We’re reviewing all households claiming a single-person discount on their Council Tax.
If you get a letter, please respond by telling us your current circumstances so that we can make sure the amount of Council Tax you pay is correct.
Completing the review form
When you receive your review letter, completing the single-person discount review form online is the easiest way to confirm your details.
To access your form, you will need to enter your unique PIN, found in the letter sent to you.

Review deadline
You have 14 days to complete your review. We will send a reminder after 14 days. If you do not complete the review, we assume your situation has changed and will remove your discount. We will issue a new Council Tax bill.
Change in circumstances
If you still live in the property alone, the following will not affect your single-person discount:
- a friend or relative stays with you for a few nights a week, and they do not keep belongs with you
- you receive post for the previous resident, or someone uses your address for correspondence only
We do not hold any credit information on our Council Tax customers.
Reapply for single-person discount
If you did not reply to the review and your discount has been removed but you are still the sole occupant at the address, you can reapply for the 25% discount to your council tax bill by completing the reapply form.
You will need your Council Tax account number and postcode to complete the form.
