The centre was the only new, purpose-built venue for the Games and hosted all the swimming, para-swimming and diving events....     Kingston Council is temporarily delaying the planned introduction of a £15 charge for residents requesting a new or replacement household waste or recycling container.... The introduction of new charges is being delayed following feedback from local residents regarding a possible issue with the quality of some household recycling containers.... Each year the council provides around 18,000 new or replacement waste and recycling containers at a cost to council tax payers of £400,000.

    This is in addition to the council’s recently announced plans for a new swimming pool and leisure centre, as well as planned work to transform the riverside at the back of John Lewis into a creative and enterprise zone.... This is about heritage and about breathing new life in to the town but it’s also a response to COVID-19....     The Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Sushila Abraham, has officially opened a new 70 metre long boardwalk made from recycled plastic in Surbiton.... The new walkway is made from recycled material also known as ‘end-of-life plastic’ as it has reached its recycling limit.... I am delighted to officially declare the new Six Acre Meadow boardwalk open.
