    This month we unveiled new play areas in Athelstan Recreation Ground, Sir Francis Barker Recreation Ground and RAF Chessington playground.... The play area in RAF Chessington is centred around a new ‘Chessington Control Tower’ multiplay unit, reflecting the site’s aviation heritage and a new footpath has been created connecting the playground to the main pathways to improve accessibility.... We hope the new play areas bring some joy to families across Chessington and Kingston Town, but please do ensure you enjoy them safely by continuing to follow the COVID-19 guidelines in place.

    One of the most iconic venues of the Edinburgh Festival is due to arrive in Kingston this summer with an exciting programme of three brand new plays, including a family show, with more to be announced... Organised as a new creative venture between the Rose Theatre and Paines Plough, and supported by Kingston Council, Roundabout is another new exciting addition aimed at boosting the local economy.... The core artistic programme will comprise three new plays from three of the UK’s most exciting playwrights.

  • Boost for borough’s biodiversity as Surbiton ponds restored with money from development

    The New and Old Malden Neighbourhood Committee has allocated almost £50,000 for a new pathway around the perimeter of Dickerage Recreation Ground.... The new circular footpath will help make the park accessible throughout the year, whatever the weather, while expanding the range of wellbeing options available to local people.... The renovations will enable residents using the centre to have access to good quality facilities, paving the way for new community initiatives.

  • Work starts on new specialist autism school in Chessington

    Kingston Council's Portfolio Holder for Children's Services including Education Cllr Steph Archer and Ambitious About Autism's Andy Nowak on site at Kingston's new autism school... Building work has started on a brand new specialist school in Chessington to boost the number of school places for autistic children in the borough.... It is an immense privilege to have been appointed head of Spring School and to lead the development of this fantastic new provision for autistic pupils.
