    Cases of COVID-19 are rising across the borough and we need to do all we can to slow the spread of the virus.... We want to make it as easy as possible for people to observe the rules around hands, face, space, along with supporting our local businesses to remain open safely, which is why we’ve set up the Keep Kingston Safe stall....   • Kingston Council and Fircroft Trust working together on future plans

    The meeting facilitated by local MP Sir Ed Davey is a welcome beginning of constructive talks to enable us to move forward positively and find solutions to continue our work with the residents of Kingston that need support with their mental health, we are pleased to be able to work alongside RBK to progress this."... I’m really pleased that we are working together to support the services of the Fircroft Trust.... Following a meeting with the trust, we believe we can find solutions that will enable the trust’s important work to continue."

  • Council Statement on Fircroft Trust

    Unfortunately the building they occupy at Ditton Road can't be used at the moment because the property isn't safe and we are actively investigating the structural problems there.... We are working hard with Fircroft to find a solution and will continue to do so.... In the meantime we continue to commission The Fircroft Trust to work with Kingston residents with mental health needs and have commissioned extra services in recent months.

  • International Day of People with Disabilities - Spotlight on Kingston Association for the Blind

    At Kingston Council we believe that everybody deserves an equal chance in life, and we are proud of our high ambitions to be as inclusive as possible.... To mark the day, this year taking place on 3 December, we spoke to Mariza Jurgens, the first visually impaired charity manager of Kingston Association for the Blind.... Earlier this year, we held a Disability Awareness Day in the Market Square, to hear and learn from a number of groups.
