In newly created roles Councillor Andrew Woolridge will take up the role of Early Career Champion and councillors Roger Hayes and Griseldis Kirsch have been appointed Long Covid Champions.... I am delighted to be taking up my role as champion for disability, working across functions of the council to get the best outcomes for people facing all kinds of challenges.

    Kingston has now doubled the number of permanent School Streets in the borough, from two to four, creating safer pick-ups and drop-offs at Alexandra Primary School and St Paul’s Primary School.... Kingston Council is setting up a Citizens’ Panel to help create new design guidance for the Kingston town centre area in response to feedback from communities on the Local Plan last summer.... Parents, carers and children from Castle Hill Primary School will continue to enjoy safer drop-offs and pick-ups at the school gates.

However, we can be proud of the diverse and modern Kingston we are now and how, time and again, we have stood up against racism and discrimination in all of its forms.... They have also set up a British Black History Reading Group.

  • Legislation to improve tenants’ rights and raise standards in the private rented property sector approved by Kingston Council

    The new legislation provides local authorities with enforcement measures such as Banning Orders, and the ability to serve fines of up to £30,000.... Kingston Council has approved the adoption of a Lettings Enforcement Policy, which includes a framework to use when considering the level of fines up to £30,000.... We are delivering on our manifesto commitment to drive up standards in the private rented sector.
