The council is proposing to strengthen an existing planning control, called an Article 4 Direction, to allow even more commercial space in the borough to be protected from a future change of use.... The borough's existing Article 4 expires on 31 July 2022 and the proposed, more extensive, new Article 4 is planned to take effect on 1 August 2022.... Proposal for new secondary school approved by Kingston Council
Demand for Year 7 places has grown substantially across the borough in the past five years, from 1,642 applicants in 2017 to 1,894 this year.... While in 2017, all 11 year olds were offered a place at one of their preferred schools or an alternative, this year 158 children were without the offer of a place on Year 7 offers day on 1 March.... On each National Offer Day for Year 7 admissions in the last few years, there have been a large number of unplaced children across Kingston.
