    The new, non-academically-selective school will meet the growing need for more high-quality state-funded secondary school places in the local area and provide reassurance and certainty for Kingston's parents and carers that there will be sufficient places for their children.... More importantly, the number of children without the offer of a secondary school place has also grown considerably.... While in 2017, all 11 year olds were offered a place at one of their preferred schools or an alternative, this year 158 children were without the offer of a place on Year 7 offers day on 1 March.

  • Kingston Museum secures prestigious funding for Muybridge project

    Earlier this year it was announced that Kingston Heritage Service, working with Kingston University, managed to secure $16,500 from TERRA to host a joint Muybridge conference ‘Moving Muybridge’ in Autumn 2021.... After spending much of his life in the United States, he returned home to Kingston in later years and died in the borough in 1904.... It will be so exciting to see this start to develop, especially in the same year as the physical collection being moved to the purpose-built storage space in the University’s Town House Building.”
