    £100,000 has been awarded to the project, which involves the relining of the ponds, the installation of organic, biodegradable coir rolls for bank stabilisation, and the creation of a dipping platform, allowing children to learn about the fascinating wildlife living and growing in the water below.... The New and Old Malden Neighbourhood Committee has allocated almost £50,000 for a new pathway around the perimeter of Dickerage Recreation Ground.... Since the beginning of 2023, Kingston Council has awarded 18 NCIL grants, totaling over £860,000.

To make cycling even more convenient across Kingston borough, work has been ongoing to get more people cycling by delivering cycle training, installing cycle hangers and by working with Human Forest to introduce a trial dockless e-bike service.... The current delivery of lamp column charging points has been funded through the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) On Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS).

    Over the last year, the council has been actively engaging with students, a Citizens’ Panel, local communities, businesses and landowners to better understand their aspirations for the future of Kingston town centre.... A draft vision for the town centre area, which includes a series of ambitious goals and six big ideas to bring them to fruition, has now been published for public consultation.... It has been fantastic to have this contribution of inspirational ideas from Kingston University students to this important plan for the future of the Kingston Town Centre Area.

  • Partnership between Kingston Council and Countryside Properties wins Best Community Engagement at prestigious industry awards ceremony

    Kingston Council’s joint venture with Countryside Properties has won Best Community Engagement Outcomes for its work with residents of the Cambridge Road Estate at the Building London Planning Awards.... With over 46 languages spoken on the estate, 37% of adults with English as their second language, 1,420 adult residents reported long-term health problems or disability, 328 residents reporting that disabilities limit them, and 26% of the community made up of children and young people aged 0 to 15, the team has worked hard to deliver a programme to draw on this diverse expertise.... Importantly, the visit also presented an opportunity to meet residents and learn from their perspective how the team has listened to resident and stakeholder views and how these ideas and aspirations have been incorporated in the plans.
