  • Scrap Metal Dealers

    Any persons who carry out business as a scrap metal dealer without a licence may be liable upon conviction to an unlimited fine.... Scrap metal is defined as any old, waste or discarded metal or metallic material and any product, article or assembly which is made from or contains metal and is broken, worn out or regarded by its last holder as having reached the end of its useful life.... A site licence allows the dealer to collect and bring metal back to site (from any location within or outside the home borough).

    The Council is required to consult you (and any recognised Resident’ Association) before we carry out any maintenance or improvement work likely to cost more than £250 per flat, and before we enter into any long term agreement likely to cost more than £100 per year per flat.... We will also write to any residents associations in the borough.... If you wait until you are invoiced for major works, it may be too late to recall the contractors to correct any faults.
