Residents in New Malden will get the chance to vote on the design of a new mural near the train station after the area’s Neighbourhood Committee awarded funding for the artwork.... Following the recent elections, Kingston Council has announced its’ new set of advocates to act as champions for key groups and issues across the community.... Voters in the New Malden Village by-election have elected Mark Durrant (Liberal Democrats), Dongsung Kim (Liberal Democrats), and Lesley Anne Heap (Liberal Democrats) as their ward councillors.

We are delighted to announce that a design team of local architects from Hayatsu Architects, Hortus Collective and 121 Collective have won the 'A Gateway to New Malden’ competition.... The team’s design “Unearthing New Malden” was judged to provide the best solution to enhance the green space at the Fountain Roundabout, increase biodiversity and access to nature, and create an inclusive and attractive public space for the town centre that celebrates New Malden’s character, culture, and heritage.... Six shortlisted teams will be announced, and their entries will be displayed as part of an exhibition in New Malden in June 2023 that everyone can attend.

Cambridge Road Estate residents back neighbourhood regeneration plans
On a turnout of 86%, 73% of eligible residents have backed plans to regenerate the estate to deliver new high-quality, ‘greener’ homes, new gardens, play areas, streets and community facilities, and a brighter, safer neighbourhood — to take the area into the future.... The new neighbourhood will include a minimum of an additional 114 council homes.... Hundreds of residents have worked with the Council and Countryside on the plans for the new estate.

Kingston Council funds new local initiatives to support green economic recovery in the borough
The money has been made available through Kingston Council’s new Recovery, Adaptation, and Innovation Support for Enterprise (RAISE) grant scheme.... These included what they need to do to recover strongly from the past 18 months, how they could adapt to new working conditions and how they could respond to new challenges and opportunities such as tech advances and changing customer needs.... They were also asked to consider how they could innovate through new products, services, or fresh thinking to boost performance or resource efficiency.
