  • Coping with extreme weather

    If our services change due to bad weather our staff will prioritise visits and rotas and will ring people if times change or we can't get to them.... Our Thinking Works programme  sees 300 people each winter from October- March.... If people are concerned about anyone, they should contact our Adult Social Care team straight away.

    This pilot programme will help us to reduce inequalities and boost opportunities in our borough, by using existing street furniture to increase connectivity for residents, businesses and visitors and enhance public safety.... They will help demonstrate how advanced wireless technology can enable areas to innovate and deliver better public services, from rolling out electric vehicle chargers to boosting business growth and helping keep our streets safe.”... We are delighted that our smart column design has been announced as one of the winners of DSIT’s Smart Infrastructure Pilots programme, alongside our partners at Kingston Council.

    Public artwork adds richness and individuality to town centres, and is central to our shared vision for Kingston’s streets and spaces.... We want to diversify the offering in our town centres and high streets so people visit them for the culture, leisure and entertainment as well as going shopping.... Our students have also enjoyed opportunities to take their work out into public settings in previous projects and I hope there is further collaboration in the future."
