Equalities

Monitoring equalities data: why we ask for information about you

We ask you for information about yourself so that we can improve our services. As a provider of essential public services, we have to find out who is (or isn’t) using our services, and whether they are more or less likely to be satisfied by our services, so that we can consider how different people will be affected by the decisions we make and the services we provide.

By collecting information about our residents and service users, we are able to:

  • Find out who our service users are, to make sure there are not groups unable to access our services
  • Find out whether particular groups are more or less likely to make a complaint or provide us with positive feedback
  • Continue to improve our services using this information

We will never require that you provide this information in order for you to access a service, but we are very appreciative when you do so. Any information you provide will be securely stored and only used for the above purposes. If there are any questions you do not wish to answer, select ‘prefer not to say’ or move onto the next section.
