The tellmi app for young people is free, safe and anonymous

Young people across the Royal Borough of Kingston can now access free mental health support via an app launched by Kingston Council.

Kingston Council has partnered with TellMi, a digital mental health app, designed with the input of over 6,000 young people, to provide anonymous peer and counsellor support to children and young people aged 11-18.

The digital app, which is available on Android, Apple iOS, has safely supported over 85,000 young people across the country since its launch in 2017.

The app allows a young person to talk anonymously about difficult things with other people of a similar age or experience. And because every post and response is checked by a human before it goes live, it is safe and guaranteed to only give supportive replies.

TellMi is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and is age-banded to provide a safe space in which young people can help themselves by helping each other.

Kingston Council is working with schools, youth services and voluntary sector organisations in the borough to raise awareness of TellMi and offer free support, resources and workshops for schools and other services.
