One council, one phone number: Kingston set to make it quicker and easier for residents to get in touch
Kingston is set to carry out a phased move over to a single phone number (020 8547 5000) to streamline and improve our customer service to residents.
From Wednesday 19 April, the below council phone numbers will be re-routed through one new, simplified list of options available to help residents resolve their queries quickly and easily. The order of the menu has also been tweaked, so that the teams our residents most frequently wish to get in touch with come first.
0208 547 5001 - Benefits
0208 547 5002 - Environment and waste
0208 547 5003 - Housing
0208 547 5005 - Adult social care
0208 547 5006 - Libraries and culture
0208 547 5007 - Council Tax
All phone numbers will still be in use and re-directed for an extended period as this new system rolls out and, over time, they will then be phased out, with 020 8547 5000 becoming Kingston’s main phone number.
The phone number for Achieving for Children, our children’s service provider, is not part of this change and will remain as 020 8547 5004.
On the move, Cllr John Sweeney, Portfolio Holder for Business, Recycling and Customer Contact, said:
“This is a great step in simplifying the process of getting in touch with us and being able to speak to the right team and have any queries resolved quickly and efficiently.
“You can also apply, pay, report, request items and much more on our website, which is available 24 hours a day. But, if you would like to speak to someone over the phone, this new technology will make it quicker and easier to get through to the help you need."
