Two community champions commended for 33 years of service to South of the Borough
With a total of 33 years of dedicated service to South of the Borough, two long-serving community champions were recognised and celebrated at Committee last night (8 March).
Dale Gossington, Community Ranger for 20 years, was commended for his critical work as part of Kingston’s Covid response team, delivering food parcels and medication to the neighbourhood’s most vulnerable. This recognition also noted his dedication to keeping the area clean and tidy.
Martin Constable, School Crossing Patrol Officer on Moor Lane for 13 years, was acknowledged and thanked for keeping the borough’s young people and their families safe during the school run, come rain, shine and even snow. The commendation also remarked on Martin’s ever-cheerful personality, with a wave and a smile at the ready for children, parents, carers and drivers alike.
Councillor Lorraine Dunstone, Chair of South of the Borough Neighbourhood Committee, said:
“We are hugely proud of both Dale and Martin. It gives our committee great pride to present them both with well-deserved commendations for many, many years of service to Chessington, Tolworth and Hook and its communities.”
A huge thank you to Dale and Martin for all of their hard work, dedication and commitment to South of the Borough.
The commendations were presented at the South of the Borough Committee on Tuesday 8 March 2022.
