Met Office issues Red weather warning for London Friday 18 February
Storm Eunice may cause significant disruption due to extremely strong winds today, Friday 18 February.
The Met Office has issued an upgraded RED weather warning for London, which has also been extended to cover the South East of England - from 10am to 3pm. This is the highest warning level and indicates significant disruption and dangerous conditions due to the extremely strong winds. Impacts could include:

Danger to life from flying debris and fallen trees

Damage to buildings including the potential for roofs to be blown off

Significant disruption to most types of transport

Power outages.
Residents and businesses are advised to follow Met Office advice and to not travel unless absolutely necessary during the red alert period.
A previous AMBER weather warning still remains in place until 9pm this evening
