Kingston Council announces draft of new Air Quality Action Plan
The new plan sets out the actions that the Council will take with partners and communities over the next five years to improve air quality across the borough and improve the health of residents.
The plan has been shaped by Kingston residents following our Citizens’ Assembly on Air Quality which brought together 38 randomly selected people from the borough to develop recommendations on how to collectively improve our air quality. This was the first ever citizens’ assembly in the UK to focus on air quality.

The Air Quality Action Plan contains a variety of themes, such as removing pollutants from school boundaries, planning and enforcement, greener transport and infrastructure, awareness raising and transition to sustainable transport. Each with a number of actions which will reduce air pollution and contribute to a cleaner, greener, healthier Kingston for everyone.
