Black History Month resources

Libraries

You can check out our Black History Month collections in all seven museums around the borough. The books on display celebrate Black culture, writers and celebrities, people who have made a difference, and those who have impacted Black rights.

This collection is also available online through the digital library collection, which also includes e-Books and e-Audio books to borrow.

Follow the libraries on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as they share activities throughout the month.

Kingston History Centre & Kingston Museum

Kingston History Centre will be showcasing ‘Black History in Kingston’ at the search room, with pictures and images and including sections on workers rights, protest and BLM  as well as culture & entertainment.

Kingston Museum is providing the opportunity to explore our borough’s link with Kingston, Jamaica through individuals like Billy Strachan -  a pilot who joined the RAF in 1940 from Kingston Jamaica and other service personnel who followed and settled in Britain.
