Remembrance Sunday 2024 in Surbiton

For those of you who have lived or run a business in Surbiton for a number of years, you will know that Remembrance Sunday is an important date in our annual calendar, supporting the National day of Remembrance

On Sunday, 10 November 2024 at 10:15am there will be a procession leading from Hollyfield Road, along Ewell Road to the war memorial located at the front Surbiton Library where a Service will take place. A number of Contingents from local organisations will also be taking part in this Service.

A series of road closures will be put in place as authorised by the Temporary Traffic Notice:

Hollyfield Road will be closed pre-event from 8:30am to permit the formation of the Parade followed by closures along the Ewell Road from the junction with Hollyfield Road to St Marks Hill from 10am to permit the safe passage of the parade along the processional route to the war memorial located by Surbiton Library. Fixed road closures will be kept in place throughout the entire event.

The road closures will remain in place until approximately 12pm once the parade has returned to Hollyfield Road.

Please note that during the above times, the procession route will need to be kept clear.

For reasons of security Police & Stewards will not be allowing any vehicles to enter:

  • Hollyfield Road (from 8:30am until approx 12pm)

  • Ewell Road between Holyfield Road and St Marks Hill (from 9am until approx 12pm)

For businesses, from 9am until approx 12pm noon during these times we would ask you to kindly notify your suppliers that access will regrettably be denied accordingly.
