School Music Development Plans

The National Plan for Music Education, supported by DfE, recommends that all schools have a Music Development Plan in place, that sets out how the school will deliver high-quality music provision for all pupils. More details and a link to our self-evaluation can be found on our School Development Plan page.

Training

Kingston Music Service runs a number of music training and networking sessions throughout the year. Information is regularly sent out to schools and teachers can sign up for individual events. For more information about training we can offer your school, email: musicservice@kingston.gov.uk

Curriculum Service Menu

With a combined service in music education of over 40 years, KMS managers are well placed to support you with an array of training opportunities that can be taylored to your needs. Performance opportunities

Every year, we run several large scale performances that schools in the borough can participate in.  These include:

  • Primary Singing Festival - our singing festival for primary singers at the Rose Theatre (next event - 16-20 June 2025)
  • WCET sharing events in localities

Schools will be contacted and invited to participate in these events.  If you have any questions, please email: musicservice@kingston.gov.uk
