Rent your property through the Council

If you're a private landlord, we can let your property through one of four different schemes. They all have the joint benefits of a free supported letting for your property, and helping to alleviate the deep housing need in the borough by supporting households in Kingston.

All these schemes are for self-contained properties  (A house or flat with its own front door, not room(s) in a shared property).

You can rent your property through one of these schemes:

  • Housing First guarantees your rent and property maintenance to enable a rough sleeper to leave the streets with access to specialist support. You will receive an incentive for joining your 1-bed properties to the scheme. Register your interest by emailing pete.baker@kingston.gov.uk
  • Tenant Finder, a free service that matches landlords with households threatened with homelessness. The Council pays rent in advance and an incentive, and the following agreement is between the landlord and tenant, but with council support. Register your interest in this scheme by emailing privatesectorschemes@kingston.gov.uk
  • Private Sector Leasing Scheme: a free service providing long-term homes for those assessed as homeless. In this scheme, we will pay an incentive and you would sign a leasing agreement with the council guaranteeing your rent. Register your interest in this scheme by emailing privatesectorschemes@kingston.gov.uk
  • Refugee Resettlement Schemes, which provide homes to refugees resettled in Kingston. The Council pays an incentive, and the following agreement is between tenant and landlord. Register your interest by emailing refugee-migrantschemes@kingston.gov.uk
