Keeping you in your home

If you have not yet lost your home, we may be able to help you remain there, for example, by helping you negotiate with a mortgage lender or landlord.

This is especially important if you have been issued a section 8 or section 21 notice and we encourage people to make contact as soon as they have received such notices in order to check their validity and to offer appropriate options.

We can also help you find privately rented accommodation as well as other schemes such as our Tenant Finder scheme which matches people up with suitable homes.

Extra priority on the housing register

If you live with family or friends and may soon be asked to leave - we may be able to increase your banding on the housing register if you can remain living with them for the moment.

The @home scheme offers you the possibility of being placed in a higher band on the Housing Register. A housing officer will need to visit you and the person you stay with to determine if the scheme is suitable for you to join. There is no guarantee that you will be invited to join this scheme as being invited onto the scheme depends on whether your situation is appropriate for this solution
