School forum
About the Schools Forum
The Schools Forum was set up in line with statutory provisions laid out in the Schools Forum (England) Regulations 2002.
When initially set up, it performed advisory and consultative functions; however, since 2006, it has also had a decision-making role.
The issues that the forum consult on are:
- the local authority’s school funding formula
- service contracts with a value exceeding specified limits
- specified issues relating to the schools' budget, such as proposals to meet Special Educational Needs, transport costs, or termination of employment costs from this budget
For more information relating to the Schools Forum, contact children, schools and families.
