The Mayor’s Gala Ball

The Mayor’s Gala Ball - Friday 4th April 2025 (7pm to midnight)

The municipal year is fast drawing to a close and with the help of our wonderful sponsors (Our gold sponsor: Breyer Group and our silver sponsor Countryside Partnerships) The Mayor is looking to end her term of office with a bang!

2025 marks the 1100th anniversary of the crowning in Kingston of King Athelstan, the first king of a unified England and the borough will be celebrating in style. To mark the occasion, the Mayor’s Gala Ball, to be held in the Sopwith Suite at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Skerne Road, will be themed “Kingston through the Ages”.

A delicious three course meal, especially designed for the event by the hotel’s head chef, will take us through the ages, with authentic dishes themed around different periods in Kingston’s history.

Following the meal, Radio Jackie Breakfast Show DJ, Neil Long, will take us on a musical journey through the decades, with plenty of dancing, once all have eaten their fill.

Menu

Our delicious food and drink will begin in Anglo-Saxon times (c450 to 1066) with the following three set courses moving you through the medieval period (1066 to 1485) then through the Tudor/Stuart/Georgian and Victorian periods (1485 to 1901) until we will end up in the Edwardian and Modern day era (1901+).
