Comedy Night
We are excited to announce a first for the Mayor’s Charitable Trust! Fed up with a world full of bad news? Then look no further for a golden opportunity to lighten your mood.
On 15th February, the Council Chamber, Guildhall, Kingston will shed its usual serious air, in favour of the mirth and merriment of our first Comedy Fundraiser.
The evening, which will run from 7.30-10.30pm, will showcase FOUR amazing and talented comedians, introduced by Colin Etches, our MC for the evening.
Together, they will keep us royally entertained, whilst simultaneously raising funds for the Mayor’s Charitable Trust, which is this year supporting Habitats & Heritage, a charity dedicated to preserving our local heritage and green spaces.
For the bargain price of £20 per person (early bird rate - £15 if you book before 10 January), you can forget your worries for a few hours, enjoy a drink or three from the bar and share in the humour of an excellent line up including:
Matt Price
Matt has entertained audiences all over the world, including 5 tours of Australia, headlining clubs in South East Asia, Scandinavia, Turkey, Russia and the Middle East. On the home front, he has worked in television, in addition to performing at 15 Edinburgh Festivals, and being booked and re-booked by most of the major bookers and clubs in the UK. He has supported Stephen K Amos, Russell Kane and Norman Lovett on tour and has gained a reputation as a very funny and generous host, able to play any room or venue.
“criminally funny” ★★★★ The Scotsman
"One of the best storytellers on the circuit” ★★★★ Artshub Australia
“Hilarious” ★★★★★ Broadway Baby
“I don’t understand why he isn’t better known” ★★★★★ One4Review
“Great storyteller” Phnom Phen Post, Cambodia
Roman Harris
Roman is as funny as he is charming.
Having graced the stage at a number of popular London Comedy Clubs, such as Backyard Comedy Club, Banana Cabaret, Top Secret Comedy Club and Up The Creek to name a few, his style of anecdotal and observational comedy with his quirkiness and devilment, is sure to take you on a rollercoaster of laughter.
Shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Awards 2021, Roman was first runner up in the 2022 NATYS and a British Comedian of the Year Semi-Finalist 2022. He’s enjoyed successful runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has also appeared in lineups with some of the top comedians from the UK and US such as Aurie Styla, Adam Bloom and Dave Chappelle.
Samantha Day
To say Samantha’s sassy brand of comedy has been widely celebrated would be an understatement.
Mother to six kids,(now THAT requires a sense of humour!), Samantha swapped three decades as an accountant and single mum for an opportunity to share her lighter side on the comedy circuit.
Last year, her sold-out Edinburgh Fringe show, "The Booby Trap" (which, as the title suggests, is all about boobs) was nominated for the prestigious Amused Moose Award. And the year before that, she won New Comedian of the Year at the Southport Comedy Festival.
Other achievements include:
-
Not So New Comedian of the Year - Finalist (2024)
-
Comedy Store King Gong - Winner (2022)
-
Best New Act, Bath Comedy Festival - Finalist (2022)
-
Stand Up for Cider - Finalist (2021)
-
Manford's New Act of the Year - Semi-Finalist (2020)
