Upcycling: T-Shirt Yarn & Finger Knitting

Finger knitting poster with 2 pictures people knitting and enjoying it

Children will discover how to transform old, unwanted t-shirts into colourful yarn and use it for finger knitting.

For Ages 6-10

In this interactive session, children will discover how to transform old, unwanted t-shirts into colorful yarn and use it for finger knitting.

What to Bring: An old t-shirt to upcycle (we’ll provide extra fabric if needed). Child-friendly scissors will be provided for safety.

The workshop is divided into two parts:

First half-hour: Learn how to make yarn from t-shirts. Families are encouraged to bring their own t-shirts to upcycle, but additional fabric will be available.

Second half-hour: Explore finger knitting with the homemade yarn. The finished product can become a scarf for teddies or be sewn into a stretchy bracelet!

Children can take their yarn and creations home, allowing them to continue this eco-friendly craft.

Spaces are limited, so book quickly! If your plans change, kindly cancel to allow another family to attend. Only reserve tickets for each child (i.e. not for adults). All children must be accompanied by an adult.
