Empowering SMEs to Access Public & Private Sector Supply Chains

Support for construction sector SME's to become supply chain-ready by improving their knowledge of how to meet the procurement criteria

Kingston council spends over £200m through its contracts and procurement each year and we want more local businesses to benefit from this. There are also multiple regeneration projects across the borough with developers committed to building a local supply chain to deliver these projects. The council, contractors and developers are committed to helping more local companies benefit from the borough wide investment being made.

This event will support construction sector related SME businesses, including those that serve the construction sector, such as catering and transport, training and materials suppliers to understand how to access opportunities and meet the social value requirements of the procurement processes of the council and tier 1 contractors. It will include a focus on retrofit accreditations and skills needed to win these procurement contracts and future proof their organisations in a sector with ambitious local and national Net Zero targets.

At the event the council and some of its contractors will share upcoming opportunities that SMEs may be interested in tendering for as well as signposting to future support and training opportunities. Our speakers will share insights about how your business can become supply chain-ready by building your skills and capabilities to meet the procurement criteria as well as case studies from SME success stories.

We welcome attendees of all sizes from construction and related sectors. We especially encourage smaller businesses to attend who might be interested in forming consortiums to tender for larger contracts.

Breakfast and refreshments will be served throughout the morning.
