Introduction to the course

An overview of food safety procedures for those who work or volunteer in settings dealing with food and includes monitoring staff and controls in order to protect the wellbeing of consumers. This course will be taught at level 3 standard.

What will I learn?

An introduction to food safety procedures including
the concept of food hazards and the risks associated with them,
terminology with respect to supervising food safety,
theory of the techniques involved in controlling and monitoring food safety, risks linked to cross contamination, the role temperature has to play in the control of food safety and
the importance of supervising high standards of cleanliness in food premises

What are the entry requirements?

Be comfortable working at level 2 standard
