Introduction to the course

Interested in drama, acting and anything to do with the performing arts? Then come
along and show us what you have! Work together, have fun and make new friends.
Learn in a relaxed and safe environment in a real theatre. All learners are fully supported
and encouraged to develop at their own pace. We always try to have an end of year
production and, in recent years, we’ve performed at venues such as The Rose Theatre
in Kingston, Hampton Hill Playhouse, The Hammond Theatre in Hampton and The
cornerHOUSE Arts Centre in Surbiton.

What will I learn?

Using both individual and group drama activities you will learn about different areas of drama and theatre. You will also learn a variety of warm up exercises and drama games. You will learn how to work with others and build your confidence.

What are the entry requirements?

You must have an interest in drama and a willingness to participate. You must be able to function within a group setting with respect for others. There will be an initial assessment before starting the course. Please note that the stage where one of our end of year performances takes place is not wheelchair accessible.

What do I need to bring with me to class?

Enthusiasm and a willingness to take part. Any aids to mobility or your daily life that you require. Sometimes you will be given scripts and words to learn. You will need a folder to keep these in order.

What can I do after my course has finished?

You will be free to choose between continuing with this course next year and taking part in a different production or joining another suitable course
