Consultation: Adult Social Care Charging Policy

This consultation has now closed.

Kingston Council is reassessing the way it charges for Adult Social Care Care services.

The existing Charging Policy, which is used to calculate care contributions, was implemented in 2017 and it is now due to be reviewed and a number of proposals are to be explored.

The Council is proposing four changes to the current Charging Policy. These are:

  1. Standardise the approach to claims for night care costs for older people getting attendance allowance.
  2. Introducing an Interim Funding fee
  3. Setting a maximum amount of Disability Related Expenditure at the level of disability benefit claimed.
  4. Introducing a charge for Assistive Technology (including Telecare).
