The Old Court House at Kingston Register Office

You will find us on the lower ground floor of the historic Guildhall, which is located in the heart of Kingston and a stone's throw away from the River Thames. The Old Court House is steeped in history and boasts many ornate original features and impressive high ceilings. We have three ceremony rooms to choose from. From small and intimate to large and grand, we have the right space to hold your beautiful ceremony.

All of our Ceremony Rooms and public spaces are currently undergoing transformation. With updated seating and the addition of plants and foliage, we’ll be bringing some exciting modern touches to this historic building. Ceremony Room One 

The largest of our rooms holds 70 guests. Cream chairs with sunburst gold organza bows, blue carpet and original wood panelling. Sympathetically restored in 2015, The Old Court still holds much of its original grandeur. 

Ceremony Room Two 

Seating for 40 guests, Room Two is light and bright with white organza bows and a relaxed atmosphere for slightly smaller ceremonies. In 2023 we’ll be bringing the outside in with beautiful plants and foliage to create an indoor garden feel to the room. 

Ceremony Room Three 

If you’re looking for a small intimate ceremony with those closest to you, our new room is now available to book Tuesday - Thursday.  With seating for 8 guests, we’re pleased to offer an affordable option for your celebration

Every wedding or civil partnership is unique, and although we can’t allow the rooms to be individually decorated for each couple, personalising your ceremony with music, readings and personal promises couldn’t be easier. How to book your ceremony

To book your ceremony with us, please email registrars@kingston.gov.uk with your preferred date(s) and time (s). We will check our availability and get back to you, usually the same working day but please allow up to three days during peak times. You can also call us on 0208 547 6196 to discuss your options. Please note that a non-refundable £50 booking fee will be taken at the time of booking.
