Your property history

You can use the Planning Register to see building control and building regulation history at your property online. This includes scanned images of decision notices and completion certificates for Building Regulations applications made since 2002.

We are now only required to keep records for a maximum of 15 years. We no longer provide a service for providing historic documents before this time.

To find your property history:

  • search for your property 
  • select the property
  • click an application number to view the details

Request a copy of a document

If you can’t find a document online, we may be able to provide you with a copy.

However, Building Control records are not public, and there is no public right to view or obtain information submitted under the Building Regulations. You’ll need to have the appropriate consent to request a copy of a document.
