Monitoring
Kingston's Air Quality Monitoring
As part of our commitments under the Air Quality Action Plan we monitor air pollution in the borough using an extensive, state of the art monitoring network. This consists of 40 nitrogen dioxide diffusion tubes, which produce monthly average concentration readings for this pollutant. Additionally, we have three continuous automatic monitoring stations. These stations monitor a variety of pollutants and produce live data.
- You can find historical data and analysis in our annual reports
- We publish live and historic data from our monitoring stations on the Air Quality England website
- You can also review our monthly diffusion tube results on this spreadsheet. However, please be aware that data is not bias adjusted until after the end of the calendar year. Un-bias adjusted data is likely to significantly overestimate pollution levels.
In addition to our own monitoring network the Breathe London project, funded by the Greater London Authority, carries out further continuous monitoring in the borough.
